In the past, when we used the air-cooled handheld welding machine A1500W in a low temperature environment in winter, the compressor often failed to start normally. To solve this pain point, Delta Laser creatively applied the black technology of bidirectional heat pump to the thermal management of the laser. It can maintain stable operation in both -10℃ low temperature and +50℃ high temperature environment.
1. Two-way heat pump
We all know what the pump is for, that is, to transport various liquids such as water. The “heat pump” as the name suggests is to pump heat.
According to the second law of thermodynamics: heat is neither created nor lost, it is only constantly transferred. The working principle of the two-way heat pump is to transfer the heat back and forth with the refrigerant as the carrier:
During cooling, the refrigerant transports the heat in the laser to the outside of the machine, reducing the internal temperature of the laser;
During heating, the refrigerant transfers the heat from the surrounding environment to the laser, which increases the temperature of the laser.
The heat management system of Laser Delta air-cooled laser mainly includes the following four components: compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator.
Their functions are:
Compressor: Compress the gaseous refrigerant, turn low-pressure gas into high-pressure gas, provide the refrigerant with energy to absorb heat from high temperature environment and release heat to low temperature environment, and help the refrigerant cycle to proceed smoothly
Condenser: Condenses the refrigerant from gas to liquid and releases heat
Evaporator: Evaporates the refrigerant from liquid to gas and absorbs heat.
Expansion valve: Turn high pressure liquid into low pressure liquid. The lower the pressure of the refrigerant, the lower the boiling point. The function of the expansion valve is to reduce the pressure of the refrigerant to the corresponding boiling point: it is lower than the ambient temperature during cooling (it can absorb heat from the environment), and the ambient temperature during heating is high ( can release heat to the environment).
2. Refrigerant
Refrigerant is an intermediate substance in the refrigeration process. It is easy to absorb heat and evaporate into gas, and it is easy to release heat and condense into liquid. In the heat management system, it transfers heat through evaporation and condensation to achieve the effect of heating and cooling.
